Dental plaque is a deposit that forms very quickly on the surface of teeth (biofilm) and becomes tartar by fixation of calcium in saliva. Tartar harbors specific bacteria that live without air and destroy the tissue that supports teeth, causing, first, inflammation of the gums (gingivitis) and the release of volatile sulphur compounds (bad breath), then gradual destruction of periodontal tissue (supportive tissue) along the roots of teeth. ORAL SENSITIVE 30: a unique kibble to preserve oral health. ORAL SENSITIVE 30 kibble encourages cats to chew and causes penetration of the teeth in the kibble. This "scrubbing effect" is possible thanks to a "customized" kibble with a precisely defined flaky texture and size. ORAL SENSITIVE 30 contains calcium chelators (sodium polyphosphate) which trap calcium ions and prevent their fixation in the form of tartar. These complexes are then drawn into the digestive tract and released.
