RADIOLOGY Quiz #2

To see Quiz #3, Go Here

Here is an x-ray quiz to test your expertise in diagnostic radiography.

The patient was a 7 year old Irish Wolfhound that had been lame for just three days.  The limping was confined to the left rear leg.  Otherwise the dog acted normally and showed no pain upon manipulation of the leg.  The patient's temperature was normal, attitude was good, and other than some noticeable swelling just above the left hock the animal appeared to be normal.  The doctor took blood to check a white blood cell count... and that was also in the normal range.  It's time to take an x-ray (the correct term in RADIOGRAPH).

Press the button on the right to see the x-ray you took.  Look it over carefully.  After scrutinizing the radiograph come back here and press a button below in front of the description of the very next thing you will do. PRESS

PRESS Evaluate the dog's diet for a mineral imbalance.
PRESS Obtain a urine sample to evaluate for crystals and bacteria.
PRESS Take another x-ray of the other leg.
PRESS Sedate the patient and palpate the abdomen with the patient relaxed.
PRESS Show the owner the x-ray and explain about kidney stones and bone metabolism and how to treat this disorder.
PRESS Do a pre-surgical evaluation for a bone biopsy procedure and then go over everything with the owner.

There are lots more x-rays to see if you go back to Radiology Headquarters
